OSVALD NITSKI BRINGS HOME HARDWARE FROM THE 2012 14& UNDER USA LONG COURSE TOUR

Ozzie is not only basking in the sun in Florida, he is basking in medals too!  Osvald was part of the GOLD medal relay team in both the 4X50 and 4X100 medley relay. He also picked up a silver medal in the 500 free and bronze medals in the 50, 100 and 200 fly. 

OSVALD NITSKI BREAKS 3 RECORDS AT SC PROVINCIALS IN NEPEAN

3 records were smashed at SC provincials held March 1 -4. During Ozzie's medal haul he broke records in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 400 IM. The 400 free record was narrowly missed by a mere 3/100ths of a second.

 

3 HAC SWIMMERS AWARDED QUEST FOR GOLD FUNDING

Bridget Coley, Lindsay Charles and Tristan Vowles have been awarded Quest for Gold funding for the 2011/2012 season. Each year 28 swimmers (14 males/14 females) from Ontario are selected based on their performance. The goal of the program, funded by the Ontario government is to improve the performance of Ontario athletes performing at the national and international level; thereby contributing to the improved performance of Canada at the international competitions.

 

LINDSAY CHARLES WINS SILVER IN 200 BACK AT EASTERNS

Lindsay was in 8th place for the first 100 metres of the race but worked her way to 4th place at the 150 mark and snagged the silver medal in the end.

 

BRIDGET COLEY SETS NEW CLUB RECORD IN 800 FREE

Bridget broke her own record of 8:48:15 this past Friday at Ontario Cup by winning GOLD in a time 8:45:88.  Her previous record was set at summer nationals when fully tapered.  To break the record during the training cycle is a great accomplishment.  Congratulations Bridget!

 

ADAM VOWLES HAS BEEN NOMINATED TO STAGE 1 OF THE 2013 CANADA GAMES TEAM

The success continues for HAC as they begin the 2011/2012 season. Coming on the heels of Bridget Coley's selection to the Pan Am team, Adam has been nominated to stage 1 of the 2012 Canada Games team.
Nominations are based on results of the 2011 Long Course season. The top 2 ranked swimmers in each Olympic event were nominated.
Adam will head to the Stage 1 camp January 6,7 & 8, 2012 to train with other Stage 1 qualifiers
